What week are we in?

29 May

Ok, so hey there.  I’m back.  What a whirlwind of a month and a half.  I’ve been working more and we’ve been getting outside and enjoying the wonderful sunshine and weather.  I’ve also done quite a few Pinterest projects, but just haven’t wanted to sit down and blog.  Forgive me?

I forgot to take pictures of some stuff, but I hope you enjoy the ones I did take!

Dining Room Makeover

18 Mar

Have you noticed a pattern yet?  No?  Well, I’m a bit surprised.

As I’ve said before, our house needs a good face lift.  And I’m so happy to share, it’s on its way.  We’ve done 1 guest room, our main bathroom, and our dining room.  These spaces (minus the bathroom) still need some decorating, but we’ve gotten the big paint jobs done.  And I had some great help with the dining room!

It’s so much better than it was!  We’re so pleased with it and now we just need to decorate a little bit.  I’ve got some vintage plates to hang up and maybe get some art work too!

Bathroom Makeover

12 Mar

Have you ever been so overwhelmed with a project that you just don’t know where to start?

That’s how we’ve felt about our house.  We’ve been here for 1 year and 9 months.  And we moved into a house with a bunch of wallpaper.  Some of it is just borders.  But some of it covered most of the walls in a room or all of the walls.  We’ve taken about half of it down.  Woo-hoo!  And thanks to the gals over at East Coast Creative, it was a cinch!

Seriously, I had taken down the top layer of the wallpaper, but didn’t know what to do next.  Then Jess and Monica posted about how to remove wallpaper the easy way!  Are you ready for the secret?  Fabric Softener.  That’s right, FABRIC SOFTENER!  Check out their how-to here.

We also had to fight mold in our main bathroom.  Yuck!  We had to fight mold in little ole Coyote Cabin too.  So, we weren’t so thrilled about it.  But, we got it taken care of and we’re done doing our bathroom!  What-what!!

I love our new shower curtain.  It reminds me of spring and I can’t WAIT for spring to get here.  It’s on its way.  I can feel it.

And…Happy, fresh bathroom to us!

And I almost forgot!  A BIG shout out to the hubs!  He did most of the work in the bathroom.  All I really did was scrape off the wallpaper and clean the fan cover.  Thanks honey!  You’re the best!

Pinterest Projects Weeks 6 & 7

18 Feb

It’s been a little crazy the last couple weeks.  My aunt was here, job interviews, snow, cold, etc.  But there’s no excuse for my lack of communication.  Please forgive me.

Anywho, here is the round-up of the last couple of weeks.  And I’m sorry, there isn’t much to share…

Well, that was about it for the past two weeks.  Oh yeah, the hubs and I have been keeping up with our 52 Week Money Challenge!  A woo-hoo!  I also read Mindy Kaling’s Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me (And Other Concerns).  I loved Mindy Kaling before I read the book, but even more now.  I love when I can read a book and imagine how the author would be saying it to me.  Anyway, if you’re looking for a light, funny read, check it out!

Pinterest Projects Week 5

6 Feb

So, there are a few projects from the 5th week of the year.  We were in the middle of getting ready to head to Minnesota for my great grandpa’s funeral, so not a lot got done.  And what did get done, was mostly in preparation for our weekend away.  So, here it is:

Dirty MicrowaveI’m a little embarrassed to be posting this picture of my nasty microwave, but it must be done.  Wait until you see the after picture!

Sparkly MicrowaveTa-Da!!  Hot water and vinegar steam

Lemon Ricotta PancakesLemon Ricotta Pancakes with Blueberry Topping

Yummy BreadYummy Bread

Now, the bread I’ve been making for the past few months, but this is the first time this year.  It is DELICIOUS!  And EASY!  I forgot to take pictures after I made the loaves, but this looks much prettier than just a shot from the top.  I made three different kinds: plain; cranberry, orange, almond; and jalapeno cheese (not pictured).  The jalapeno cheese was a big hit, so I didn’t actually get to bring any home.  Or try it.  It’s ok, I’ve still got jalapenos and cheese…

I also made Sonoma Chicken Salad for our 7 1/2 hour drive to Olivia, MN.  I also forgot to take a picture.  But let me tell you, it was also damn delicious.

I’ve got some really exciting things coming up for this week and I can’t wait to share with you!  So, until next week, Pin away!
